VR application Road to the Future

For Province Brabant NuFormer designed and created a Virtual Reality application in which mobility now and in the future could be experienced in an immersive way. The project was named Road to the Future. Objective for the client was to promote their future vision on traffic and transport.
The NuFormer VR experience takes users on to a road trip through a current public road situation that shows all kind of situations (seen in 360 degrees) that can be improved, halfway the road trip a jump is made into the future. Now the users are driving a futuristic car while they can look around and see how the roads and public transport will look like in the year 2050. In the last part of the VR journey the user is back in the actual time and, still driving on the road, can see around them what already has been approved regarding roald and public transportation, by the governmental departments. Good mobility is key.
The VR experience was first offered on a outdoor event in Eindhoven where a stage was built around two old-timer cars (DAF 66) that were equiped with the VR systems inside the car so people could take a seat into the cars and put on their goggles for an impressive virtual road trip.
